PHOTO MAGAZINE (FRANCE) CONTEST 2005

Photo Magazine from France has the biggest photo contest in the world (they get over 50 000 submission each year) and after neglecting this contest for far too long, I finally decided to submit some of my work to them this year.

Ok, cool, they select 500 photos out of 50 000 and mine was one of them. That in itself is an honor! However, what still blows my mind is that they included my portrait of The Enigma in their "digital manipulation" section, a section dedicated purely to the art of Photoshopping stuff. My very un-manipulated photo is the only one in the magazine (and therefore the only one out of 50 000 photos) to be given this rare honor. Are the editors really that oblivious to the reality that The Enigma has indeed tattooed himself as a giant blue puzzle and got horn implants? I clearly identified it as a portrait, but looking at the other submissions they got - like the black/purple woman with wires coming out of her head - I guess it's an honest mistake!!
